My windows are open letting the cold weather seep in. Leonard Cohen is playing on my speakers and my lamp is providing a dim light. It’s past eleven on a Saturday night and I’m at my desk with a textbook open. I enjoy how smoothly the lead glides across a fresh piece of paper. Before I was sipping hot chocolate and trying to play “Famous Blue Raincoat” on a guitar that’s missing a string. It’s quiet outside my room and I feel like I’m alone except for the subtle sounds of cars and faint voices. I can’t remember the last time I’ve been so comfortable.
